  Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. No road section formally called BA-265 exists at present within the Municipality of Una, in the state of Bahia. Through personal communication with the collector, Scott Mori (NYBG), the present day identity of the road described in this locality description as BA-265 was established to be a section of road now called BA-676 which runs from Rio Branco to Colonia Do Una. Only one road, BA-669, intersects with BR-101 near Sao José which later links to BA-676 (Old name: BA-215), clearly identifying the starting location of the offset. Another road, BA-664, branches off from BA-669 and also links up to BA-676; however, since only the BA-669 intersects with BA-676 near the town of Núcleo Colonial de Una (as is suggested parenthetically in the locality description), only the route following BA-669 was used in this georeference. Georeferenced to a point along the section of road BA-669 which links BR-101 (near Sao José) to BA-676 (old name: BA-265) (near Núcleo Colonial de Una), closest to the approximate geographic midpoint of that section of road, in Mun. Una, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located BA-669. Beginning at the intersection between BA-669 and BR-101 (-15.0708881 -39.3317628), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line to the intersection between BA-669 and BA-676 (-15.2518253 -39.1688561), then halved that distance to approximate the location of the geographic midpoint. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find coordinates for the point along BA-669 closest to the approximate geographic midpoint. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates along BA-669 to the most distant of the two intersections used to estimate the geographic center of this section of road (BA-669 x BA-676), 13881.3 m), and measurement error (0.1 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
