Woodland along small stream, normally damp grassland, now dry, and dry cerrado/carrasco woodland on slopes of surrounding quartzitic hills.

Shrub to ca. 50 cm. Petals magenta. Stamens with white filaments and bright yellow anthers. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
