Habitat
Low marshy area with many depressions in which water stands 1-2 inches deep; Soil peaty. Mosses very common; Common species include: Caltha palustris, Polemonium sp., Lysichiton americanum, Empetrum nigrum, Equisetum pratensis, Achillea borealis, Dodecatheon pulchellum, Calamagrostis nutkaensis, Plantago macrocarpa, Sphagnum sp., Carex sp., Angelica lucida, and scattered Salix sp.; Forming large spongy masses; Commonly found around Empetrum nigrum.
