AUSTRALIA. NEW SOUTH WALES. Tinderry Mountains, southeast of Canberra; on ridge leading from Tea Tree Creek homestead to summit of The Twins, east of Michelago; abundant and dominant on dead Eucalyptus trees in dry sclerophyll forest, 4,000 ft. alt. Probably the most abundant corticolous lichen in the region, occurring with smaller numbers of U. scabrida Tayl.
