    Laxly spreading shrub, 2 meters high; whitish wood easily cutting and rather soft; bark brown, scaling when old; leaves sub-corlaceous, harsh, dull green above, much lighter beneath spreading; flowers upon recurved or sub-pendulous peduncles, usually single but sometimes 2 to 3 clustered; corolla delicate white, deciduous pistil greenish white; anthers yellow; filaments conspicuously light blood red.
