to soils, soils tan-brown or gray-brown, with Artemisia frigida,
Artemisia arbuscula, Achnatherum hymenoides.
Perennial; no auricles;rachis disarticulating; 3-fertile florets
per spikelet, glumes 27-30 mm, 3 mm base, lemma 5 mm
awn 14 mm.
