FLORA OF PHILIPPINES

var arborescens
Vine to 10m. Stems very thin and rigid in cross
section with a thick collenchyma. Juvenile
plants with ovate to elliptic-ovate leaves, very
dark green above. Adult plants with chartaceous
and elliptic-oblong to lanceolate leaves.
Inflorescences (female) white to pale yellow,
then brownish, pendulous always. Floral bracts
orange, fruits green, stigmas 2-3.

Butuduan, 19 km N of Butuan. Manobo ethnic
group. Partially disturbed forest along San
Antonio River.
