Field Char: Canopy emergent, long cylindrical
bole; outer bark with scaly texture, red
beneath, inner bark tan-light brown; wood soft,
reddish color; leaves coriaceous, dark green
both surfaces.
Notes: Moderate frequency, conspicuous member of
canopy layer.
Locality: Morobe province; Herzog Mts., logging
track above Gabensis.
Habitat: Previously undisturbed hill forest
with mixture of lowland and low
montane taxa; now with light selective
logging.
