In mixed forest on brown sand, with Chlorocardium
rodiei, Swartzia leiocalycina, Licania ?alba, Caryocar
nuciferum, Eschweilera sagotiana, Manilkara bidentata,
Symphonia globulifera, Manilkara bidentata
Tree, ca. 20 m tall, dbh 40 cm. Base irregularly
scalloped, with young sprouts. Bark red-brown. Sapwood
yellow-brown, heartwood dark brown. Young branches
striate, bark with white lenticels. Leaves papery,
somewhat glaucous. Fruits golden-brown velutinous, up to
15x4x3 cm. Seeds embedded in a white, foamy
substance.
