Mesic slopes at cliffs, with Acer negundo, Acer
saccharum, Aquilegia canadensis, Arabis shortii,
Hydrophyllum appendiculatum, Quercus
muhlenbergii, Q. rubra, Tilia americana, Ulmus
americana. Stipes reddish, glabrous; occasional and
local fern, fronds immature, tufted; mesic talus in shade.
