Perennial graminoid; associate species Carex laevivaginata, Osmunda cinnamomea, Onoclea sensibilis, Dryopteris carthusiana, Viola cucullata, V. pallens, Ludwigia palustris, Mikania scandens, Symplocarpus foetidus, Cardamine pensylvanica, Juncus effusus tkArisaema triphyllum. *Note-this is the most common sedge of bogs, swamps and brooks in Montauk.
