Hydrophyllaceae BOTANICAL NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 03191831 Nemophila menziesii Hooker & Amott apparently intermediate between var. menziesii and var. integrifolia Parish Western SAN GABRIEL MTNS: Los Pinetos Spring at the head of Los Pinetos Canyon; San Fernando 7.5' USGS quad; T3N R15W, NW/4 NW/4 SW/4 sect 10; ca 2930 feet elevation. Area around the spring dominated by a Juglans californica - Quercus agrifolia woodland, unusual on the north side of the range. Locally common annual on mesic slopes in dappled shade; corollas sub-rotate, very pale blue with slightly darker veins; purple punctulations at base of corolla lobes forming a ring. Associated with Claytoniaperfoliata mexicana, Clarkia unguiculata, Lithophragma bolanderi, L. affine, Boykinia rotundifolia, Sanicula crassicaulis, Symphoricarpos albus laevigatas, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Lathyrus laetiflorus, etc. Tim Ross 6823 Walter Appleby 15 April 1993 03191831
