A.Gray var. confertiflorum LIVE OAK CAMPGROUND, Tujunga Ranger District, Angeles National Forest; at the confluence of SAND CANYON and BEAR CANYON (draining to the Santa Clara River about 3.5 miles north). Mint Canyon USGS 7.5' quadrangle; T3N R15W, NW/4 NE/4 and N/2 SW/4 NE/4 section 1; elevation ca 2120-2200 feet Campground site dominated by Quercus agrifolia woodland with coastal sage scrub and chaparral elements in openings, and an open sandy/gravelly wash.
