Jeffrey, 1989 Medium tropical evergreen forest without emergents, on flat clay soil, probably flooded during rainy season. With Mauritia, Euterpe, other palms. Mun. Porto Velho, along hwy. BR 364, 38 km. ENE of junction with hwy. BR 325, 40 km. (by air) E of Abuna, 18 km. ENE of Corrego Raiz. 9°40'S, 65°00’W; elevation: 140 m. Herbaceous vine at edge. Flowers odorless, visited by heliconid butterflies; calyx and hypanthium bright orange; corolla yellow.
