Metcalf’s ranch, northeast base of Mt. Eddy in moist soil in
the forest, • elevation 4500 feet. The prevalent tree is Douglas fir
with some white fir and sugar pine, after cutting the original stand
of\>Jeffrey pine. The common undershrubs are ceanythus and
Uva-ursi iu the dry placés with Salix and Coryliis in low ground.
