  • Description

    Tree trunk 9 m tall, 27.5 cn DBH. Plot 1m Tree 2. Edible fruits. Mass of aeriual roots at base. Truk wiht spines throughout on young individuals; spines restricted to top on older trees, No crownshaft; infructescence emerges above old leaf bases, Leaves 10 in crown, each ca. 3 m long; black spines along rachis; ca. 175 pinnae/side arranged at various angles; pinnae dark green above, glaucous below. Pinnae from middle section 60 cm long, 4 cm wide. Infructescence: spathe cq. 120 cm long, 27 cm wide, light brown with soft hairs on the outside surface with small black spines toward base; ca. 120 rachillae. Fruits yellow-green, immature. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
