Thallus erect, cylindrical, gelatinous, unbranched, firm and rather tough,
clavate at distal end, suddenly attenuate at the base into a stipe; cells
spherical, solitary or in twos or fours, diameter 4-16 mic.

Attached to rocks on lake bottom.
