Sacraæento Mountains, ca. 1 si S of US-82 and High Rolls,
roadside of USFS-63 (Karr Canyon Rd.) (Sec. 7 T16S RUE);
moist seep area emptying into a creek; plant composed of a
basal rosette and 8 internodes below the inflorescence;
leaves decurrent; roots fleshy, 5 ib® diameter; stem
triangular; ca. 10 inflorescence branches; up to 7 ft tall;
about Î0 plants seen; shite florets; involucres resinous;
heads slightly nodding; elevation 7000 ft.

Associated flora; Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, Bromus,
Lithospermum, Silene wrightii, Robinia neomexicanus,

Melilotus alba, Healianthus annuus, Rosa sp,, Clematis
ligustifolia, Artemisia mesicana
