Dominican Republic: Provincia de Samand, along the
southern coast of Samand Bay, approximately 2 km southwest
of the migrant fishing village known as Naranjo Arriba, in
Los Haitises National Park. ca. 19'4'N, 69*40^. Elevation
40 - 80 m. Karst topography.
Voucher for PhD dissertation collected in experimental plots
situated in abandoned pastures and conucos (small semi-
migratory farms).
Specimen identified by T. A. Zanoni of the New York
Botanical Garden.
