Habitat
Moist soil amongst limestone.

Description
Small shrublike trees. Stem 7 in. thick, 15 in. or ft rather in hight, branched from the middle; wood whitish, moderately soft, burly, odorless and tasteless; bark relatively thin, smoothish, brown or mixed with gray on the branches, reddish, beneath the epidermis; branches lucid green on the upper folded side, apex recurved, paler beneath; fruits in small clusters, upon short stalk, along the branchlets, usually bellow the leaves; fruits flattish, upon a slenderly constricted recurved base, peach to orange red, with a single seed provided with a caruncle. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
