Municipio Porto Seguro: Parque Nacional Monte Pascoal, .lo-
cated lU is east of BRiOl at a point 13 km north of Itamara
ju. Forest on slopes of Monte Pascoal at elev. 385m. Common
bamboo in densely shaded forest. Culms erect, 8-9 m tall,
ca, 2 cm. diam., arching above, covered with short fine
hairs when young. Culm leaves: sheath lanate, the hairs
"brownish-white; blade green, horizontal (not reflexed).
Branch complement: 79 in most developed one. In another
clump of this same species the culms reached 10-12m.
