    Species Description - Annual, or sometimes of longer duration, loosely pubescent, branched, 28 dm. high, or vine-like and 1 m. long. Leaves oblong-lanceolate to elliptic, 7 cm. long or less, acute or short-acuminate at the apex, narrowed at the base, the petioles 5-15 mm. long; spikes solitary or 2 together, slender, 5-15 cm. long; calyx-lobes acute; corolla white, bearded in the throat, about 2 mm. broad, its tube about as long as the calyx; fruit didymous, depressed, 3-4 mm. broad, finely pubescent.
