    Description - Thallus glistening, deep green to dark green, fleshy, 3—10 mm wide, to 5 cm long, prostrate, scarcely branched, without a midrib, thickened to near margins, those undulate. Cells thin-walled; oil bodies usually numerous, more than 6 per cell, very small, finely granular. Dioicous. Antheridia in 2-6 transverse rows on short or long branches. Archegonia in clusters in incisions of thallus margin, hidden under small, thallus wings. Seta thick, in cross section 8—16 cells in diameter. Vegetative reproduction lacking.
