Discussion
In the original description Hooker cites Spruce’s numbers 1472 and 1649 as L. glabra. However, he also cites these same numbers as L. heteromorpha. This confusion is indicative of the close relationship of these species. Both numbers are assigned to var heteromorpha as defined here.
