Species Description - Herb or subshrub, from 20 cm to 1 m in length, with one to many, simple or branched, erect, ascending or occasionally decumbent stems from thick napiform or fusiform root, the stems glabrate to diffuse-pilose, the hairs either rufous or whitish. Stipules lanceolate, externally rufo- or albo-pilose, persistent, connate, 5-18 mm long, 2.0-3.5 mm wide. Petioles 0.5-5.0 mm long, rufo- or albo-pilose. Leaflets 3, membranaceous to thin-coriaceous, linear-oblong and lanceolate to ovate, often obovate, apex and base acute to obtuse, or base subcordate, often mucronate, 2-12 cm long, 0.4-3.8 cm wide, glabrate to puberulent or long-pilose above and below, the hairs rufescent or whitish, margins often ciliate. Inflorescences pseudo-fasciculate or with flowers in roundish clusters at end of peduncles, not exceeding the leaves, few to multiflorate, 1.0-3.5 cm long, peduncles 1-15 mm long, pedicels 2-6 mm long. Bracts linear to lanceolate, caducous, 3.0-5.5 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide. Calyx externally pilose, 5-9 mm long, tube 2.0-2.6 mm long, lobes 3.5-6.5 mm long. Corolla yellow, 8-12 mm long. Standard obovate, externally sericeous and glandular at apex, 8-13 mm long, 5.5-9.0 mm wide. Auricles 1 mm long, claw 1.0-2.5 mm long. Wings narrowly oblong, obliquely hastate at base, 8.5-12.0 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, claw 1.5-3.0 mm long. Keel blades falcate, 8.5-11.0 mm long, 2.0-2.5 mm wide at maximum, claw 2-4 mm long. Stamens 9-11 mm long. Fruit oblong-ovate, externally pilose, 10-15 mm long, 5-8 mm wide. Seeds ovate, black or mottled, 2.5-4.5 mm long, 2-3 mm wide.
