Genus Description - Armed or unarmed subshrubs, or herbs. Leaves short-petioled or sessile; blade with numerous minute, transversely oriented Flowers in axillary or terminal inflorescences; calyx with 4 unequal sepals; corolla yellow or blue, zygomorphic, with 5 lobes; stamens 4, didynamous; stigma simple. Capsule ovoid or oblong.
