    Species Description - Similar to D. lonchophyllum except: rhizome scales 5-7 mm long, 2-3 mm wide; stipe 30-40 cm long; blade 50-60 cm long, 20-40 cm wide; basal pinnae somewhat reduced; pinnae 18-20 (-25) cm long, (3.5-)4.5-5 cm wide; segments stalked (6-8 mm long), strongly oblique and falcate; margin with teeth often incurved; indusium 5-7 mm long, 0.3-0.5 mm wide, subentire.

    Type. Mexico. Chiapas: 10 km above Rayón, Breedlove 26122 (DS). See discussion under D. lonchophyllum of the two species and their hybrid.

    Terrestrial in montane rain forest; Ixtlán, Juchitán, Pochutla; 100-1000 m. Mexico (Oax, Chis, Tab), Guat.
